Abstract

This paper proposes a novel computational framework based on the meshless localized method of fundamental solutions for 2D and 3D steady-state heat conduction in anisotropic and nonhomogeneous multi-materials, including functionally graded materials, thermal metamaterials, and laminar composite materials. A linear combination of local fundamental solutions is used to approximate the temperature field in each stencil support. To treat anisotropy, the domain mapping method is introduced to transform the anisotropic heat conduction equations into isotropic ones. Local fundamental solutions are derived to account for spatially varying thermal conductivity, while the generalized reciprocity method is incorporated to handle volumetric heat sources. Furthermore, the domain decomposition method is employed to treat multi-material problems with discontinuous thermal conductivity and interfacial jump conditions. Several numerical examples are presented to verify the feasibility, efficiency, and accuracy of the proposed computational framework.
